Police officer hospitalized after car crash

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Chicago police officer is in serious condition after a violent crash at Ashland and Montrose Monday afternoon. The police SUV flipped over onto its roof. Another vehicle was also involved in the accident.

Officials said the officer was pinned-in, but quickly extricated and was conscious.

No other injuries were reported.
