DOVER, Del. (WLS) -- The remains of a local soldier are back on U.S. soil. Aaron Toppen, of Mokena, was one of five American service members killed in a friendly fire incident in Afghanistan.

Toppen's family was at the Air Force Base in Dover, Delaware when his body was brought back home on Thursday.

Toppen was on a security mission when the group was hit by bombs launched from a jet that was called in when his unit ran up against Taliban forces.
