CHICAGO (WLS) -- The family of a girl who was murdered in a South Side park wants answers from the park district as to why some facilities haven't been built yet.

The Ryan Harris Park was renamed after the 11-year-old who was murdered there in May 1998. Harris' mother says the park district promised to build a restroom and field house facility for the park after it was renamed back in 1999.

"You all have the funding for the park, for the facilities that you all said that the park can have, and it's been 16 years and I still don't see it," said Sabrina Harris, victim's mother.

Lawrence also says they have received financial commitments from lawmakers for the facilities totaling more than $350,000.

The park district says that amount is not enough to build the facilities and is looking for additional funds to support the project.
