University Park daycare will reopen Thursday following crash

UNIVERSITY PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- The Playhouse Inc daycare in University Park says they will reopen Thursday but will not be able to take infants after a car crashed into their building Sunday night. The crash caused extensive damage to the infant room as well as to other parts of the building.

Michelle Bankston said officials told her drag racing may have been involved in the crash, which sent the driver to the hospital with severe burns. Bankston and her staff are still trying to clean up the mess that resulted from the crash.

It is unknown if any charges have been filed against the driver.
