Morton Arboretum hosts 'Husky Heroes'
This event helps find permanent adoptive homes for stray, abandoned, abused or otherwise homeless purebred Siberian Huskies.

LISLE, Ill. (WLS) -- When you think of huskies, you usually think Alaska and the Iditarod. But now you can meet huskies right in our area during Husky Heroes weekend at the Morton Arboretum.

The arboretum works with Adopt A Husky, Inc., for this event, an all-volunteer non-profit organization that helps find permanent adoptive homes for stray, abandoned, abused or otherwise homeless purebred Siberian Huskies. Huskies will actually be available for adoption at the Husky Heroes event.

Diana Fischer-Woods, special events coordinator with the Morton Arboretum, and Noel Dagley with Adopt A Husky joined us live from west suburban Lisle with details.
