CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police ticket quotas are now illegal for all municipalities in Illinois.

Gov. Pat Quinn announced Sunday that he signed legislation banning the quota system, which also prohibits quotas from being used to evaluate officer performance.

The new law applies to local, county and state police officers effective immediately.
