CHICAGO (WLS) -- Republican Bruce Rauner is getting support from some Latino voters.

They joined him and his running mate Evelyn Sanguinetti Sunday afternoon at a restaurant on Chicago's Southwest Side to announce the formation of the "The Amigos de Rauner-Sanguinetti Coalition."

Some in the group cited Rauner's success in business and his support of education as reasons for their backing.

As for rauner, he spoke about what he would do for the many Latino families who own small businesses.

"They're suffering from high taxes, bad regulations and the loss of job opportunities. We're going to turn that around and restore the integrity and growth of our economy."

Earlier, Rauner spoke at Chicago's New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church where Reverend Jesse Jackson was speaking as part of the annual Rainbow PUSH Convention.

Jackson tells ABC7 Eyewitness News that he did not know Rauner would be there, but says the two spoke briefly.
