MUNDELEIN, Ill. (WLS) -- Francis Cardinal George helps a far north suburban parish celebrate its 150th anniversary.

The cardinal participated in the special Mass Sunday at Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church in Mundelein.

Cardinal George is set to retire next month. His replacement is Bishop Blase Cupich of the Spokane, Washington diocese.

"He'll be back for a couple of days and we'll talk a lot more then," Cardinal George said. "He has a lot of questions, and I have a lot of information that I can share with him. So certainly before he takes over on the 18th of November, he'll have some information. But like in any position, yours or any other, you learn as you go along."

Cardinal George is using crutches to get around following a surgery on his right foot, which was infected related to his cancer treatment.
