Pride is on the line when Chicago police officers and firefighters take to the boxing ring to raise money for charity.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Pride is on the line as Chicago's everyday heroes step into the ring to go toe-to-toe for a good cause.

The 13th annual Battle of the Badges pits Chicago Police Officers and Firefighters in a series of boxing matches for charity (SEE BELOW). The 2015 edition will take place at DeLaSalle Institute, 3455 S. Wabash, on April 29, 2015. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. The Chicago Park District's best amateur boxers will compete against one another at 7:00 p.m. Police and Fire combatants will square off at 8:00 p.m. Admission is only $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

The money raised benefits Chicago Police and Fire charities. More than 3,000 people are expected to attend. Katie Chiczewski and Nathanial Myles of the Chicago Police Department, and Steve O'Malley from the Chicago Fire Department sat down to talk about the event and the charities it helps at our ABC 7 studios.
