Boy who received heart transplant takes presents to kids at hospital

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A teenager whose patience paid off got a unique wish granted Friday in Chicago.

Elijah, 15, got quite the welcome at the State Street Macy's.

The young man recently received a heart transplant at Lurie Children's Hospital after waiting for more than a year.

He asked the Make a Wish Foundation if they could help him take presents to the kids at the hospital where he was treated.

Employees from Macy's, some Chicago firefighters and even Santa himself helped Elijah pick out the gifts.

They then filled up a limo and drove the presents to the hospital to hand them out.
