CHICAGO (WLS) -- The National Park Service and National Park Foundation are celebrating 100 years of preserving the beauty of our national forests. Now, they're bringing some of the flavors of their national parks to cities all across the country. On June 11, 2016 in Washington Park, the National Park Service and National Park Foundation are partnering with Oscar and Grammy Award winner Common to host the second event in their Park Exchange Series.

The exchange will bring pieces of New Orleans culture to Chicago, featuring a second line jazz festival, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble New Orleans's Treme Brass Band and Black Men of Labor. In addition to the Chicago-New Orleans music theme, the event will also engage rangers from one of our nation's newest national parks: Pullman National Monument in Chicago. Pullman rangers will be on hand to talk about the park and its ongoing development. Common is serving as the Honorary Grand Marshal for the Park Exchange. He joined ABC 7 before the event to talk about the exciting day ahead.
