Glen Ellyn holds 'sleep out' fundraiser for homelessness

GLEN ELLYN, Ill. (WLS) -- Hundreds of people in Glen Ellyn are helping the homeless by experiencing homelessness themselves.

Cardboard boxes, tents and cars will be the only place to sleep for those taking part in sleep out Saturday.

A rally was held in downtown Glen Ellyn Saturday night to kick off the fundraising event.

About 75 parking lots and backyards around the village have been set up to accommodate the crowds.
