Graue Mill civil war encampment brings history to life
The 10th Illinois Regiment is bringing history to life at a civil war encampment this Labor Day weekend.

OAK BROOK, Ill. (WLS) -- The 10th Illinois Regiment is bringing history to life at a civil war encampment this Labor Day weekend. This is at the Graue Mill in suburban Oak Brook and depicts what life was like in a Union military camp in the 1860s, complete with authentic clothing, weapons and tools. You can experience black powder firing demonstrations and drills, cooking, toys and crafts.

Bob Winter, historian and re-enactor, and Jerry Bliss, commander, joined us live from the camp site during our ABC 7 Eyewitness News Sunday Morning to tell us all about the event.
