CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana and Legoland Discovery Center in Schaumburg are teaming up for a Magical Day Out for brave children fighting life-threatening diseases. The day of fun happens September 30, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. Some 500 RMHC-CNI guests will receive full access to Legoland's attractions, giveaways, and specialized Lego-build and take-home opportunities with a Master Model Builder.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana is a non-profit organization caring for families of children with complex medical conditions with a "home away from home." Each night, RMHC-CNI cares for 153 families at 5 Ronald McDonald Houses. The provided care saves families over $10 million in hotel and food costs each year.
Lisa Mitchell, Vice President of Operations for RHMC-CNI, and Mark Dabler from Legoland Discovery Center Chicago & Merlin's Magic Wand, joined ABC 7 to talk about the Magical Day Out.
