New police officer proposes at CPD graduation

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A single question turned an already big day for a new Chicago police officer into an even bigger one.

Just moments after graduating from the police academy at Navy Pier, Ben Cave got down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend Edith Kolendo. She said yes!

The two have been dating for six years. Cave says he decided to pop the question because he knew both families would be there to watch the very special moment.
