CHICAGO (WLS) --Chicago Commons has a real history here in the city. It began more than 120 years ago as a 'Settlement House.'
Since then, the staff has worked to improve the well-being of thousands of children, adults and seniors.
Services include early childhood education, senior care and more recently multi-generational programming.
The goal of all of this is preparing children for lifelong learning, raising up families and breaking the cycle of poverty.
Talking about their work is Chicago Commons President and CEO Edgar Ramirez.
