Jackson almost perfect as Loyola-Chicago thumps UIC 85-61

CHICAGO -- Aundre Jackson was close to perfect with 23 points as Loyola-Chicago jumped out to an early lead and roared to an 85-61 win over the University of Illinois-Chicago on Saturday.

Jackson hit 10 of 11 field-goal attempts, including two from distance, as Loyola-Chicago (8-1) bounced back after dropping an 87-53 decision to Boise State Tuesday night. The Ramblers never trailed against UIC and took a 52-24 advantage into the break.

Lucas Williamson came off the bench to score 14 points, drilling 3 of 4 from distance and Clayton Custer added 10 as 11 Ramblers put points on the board.

The Ramblers hit 55 percent (34-62) from the floor while limiting UIC to 23-of-49 (47 percent) shooting. Loyola-Chicago also hit 8 of 14 from beyond the arc.

Marcus Ottey led the Flames (2-5), who have lost four straight, with 16 points. Dikembe Dixson and Dominique Matthews added 14 apiece.
