Cubs fans pumped for World Series Game 3
Cubs fans started celebrating early Friday as they waited for the first World Series game at Wrigley Field in 71 years.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The World Series is coming to Wrigley Field. Chicago Cubs fans haven't had a chance to savor a moment like this in more than 70 years.

So they got the party started early Friday morning at Harry Caray's in the city's River North neighborhood.

Dutchie Caray, the beloved Cubs sportscaster's widow and the first lady of Chicago baseball; Chip Caray, Harry Caray's grandson and former Cubs play-by-play broadcaster; Ron Kittle, a former Chicago White Sox player rooting for the Cubs; and actors and Cubs fans, Joel Murray, Horatio Sanz, Joe Nunez and Brad Morris; were in attendance.

First pitch is still several hours away, but you wouldn't know it from the bar scene. Fans are hopeful for a last-minute chance to get inside.

Mike Litawa lives in Portland, Ore. His grandfather was a huge Cubs fan, like his father and like him.

Litawa took the month off, and has been camping out for Cubs tickets since the playoffs. It's working.

"I've gotten lucky a couple of times out here. Game 1 of the Giant series, Game 1 of the Dodgers series. So I'm hoping for some luck today," Litawa said.

"I'll stand in the cold. I'll do whatever I need to do to get tickets," said Frank O'Kane, a another Cubs fan.

Isaiss Duarte plans to take the game - or in this case, the players - with him wherever he goes. He had his barber in Moline, Ill., Miguel Rosas, put Kyle Schwarber's face on the back of his head.

"Today I'll be at the ACME Hotel off Ohio Street doing free Cubs logos from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.," Rosas said.

The Chicago Cubs tweeted a video Thursday night that is sure to get fans pumped for Game 3. The team also posted a gorgeous photo of the field Friday morning.

American Airlines decked out their gates at O'Hare International Airport with "W" flags Friday, in honor of the Cubs.

BE LIKE KYLE

Although competing in the World Series - in such a historic manner - must be daunting, the Cubs reminded fans Thursday there's always time for some good-natured ribbing.

Kyle Schwarber is a man of many talents. He's a home run king, a comeback kid and as luck would have it, a show choir stud.

The Cubs unearthed footage of a high school performance where Schwarber was front and center, sporting in a gray suit, purple dress shirt and a smashing pink tie.

His teammates - sure to never let him live this down - donned gray suit jackets and pink ties to show Schwarber just what they thought of his dance moves.

In the end, he had to show them all how it's done.

WORLD SERIES COCKTAILS FOR CHARITY

People can toast to a good cause at four Chicago restaurants during the World Series.

Autre Monde Cafe, JAM, Paramount Room and Knife & Tine, four locally-owned independent restaurants, are offering themed cocktails that will benefit the Chicago Cubs' special charities, officials said.

The cocktails include Take Me Out to the Ballgame, Onion Beats Mustard, Wild Thing, The 108, Bacardi N Appleaes Worldtini and Fly the W.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Cubs Care fund, officials said.

HOT WORLD SERIES APPAREL

One of the fun things about going to the game is getting all dressed up in Cubby blue. Allee Ayre from Clark Street Sports joined ABC7 News at 11 a.m. to show some of the hottest items.
