Major Metra delays after pedestrian struck
There are major delays on the UP-North Metra line after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a train in Wilmette.

WILMETTE, Ill. (WLS) -- Union Pacific North trains are moving out of Ogilvie Station after a pedestrian was struck by a train in Wilmette, Ill., but there are continuing extensive delays, Metra says.

In Wilmette, Metra officials are allowing outbound trains to pass through the area where the incident occurred intermittently at restricted speed, causing extensive delays.

The pedestrian was killed, officials said.

The CTA is honoring Metra tickets on its Purple Line trains.
