Overnight lane closures to begin on Lake Shore Drive

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Starting Monday night, there will be more overnight lane closures on Lake Shore Drive due to the Navy Pier flyover project.

Department of Transportation officials said the two right lanes of Northbound Lake Shore Drive will be closed between Illinois and Grand from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. Monday night, Tuesday night, and possibly Wednesday.

The new flyover will connect two halves of the lakefront trail to create a continuous 18-mile ribbon along the lakefront.

The entire project won't be finished until 2018.
