CHICAGO (WLS) -- ABC7 viewer Russell asked Roz Varon to look into the condition of the Eisenhower Expressway entrance ramps at Laramie and Independence.

"The entryways to the expressway at Laramie and at Independence are horrible. I almost had a wreck trying to drive slower onto the ramps," Russell wrote.

Russell first made contact last October. Varon got in touch with both the Illinois Department of Transportation and the Chicago Department of Transportation at that time, to find out who is responsible for maintaining those sections of road.

CDOT is in charge of the ramps leading to the expressway, and the frontage road just south of it, where layers of concrete are coming up.

CDOT left a message with Varon. She will follow up and see what crews do to repair the road.
