Vehicle rolls under bridge after crash on Jane Byrne Interchange

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A crash snarled traffic on the Jane Byrne Interchange during the morning commute after the vehicle involved ended up underneath a bridge.

Illinois State Police said a single-vehicle crash occurred on the ramp from the inbound Kennedy Expressway to the outbound Eisenhower Expressway Friday morning. The vehicle veered off the ramp, rolled over several times and landed on its wheels underneath the Jane Byrne Interchange bridge. State police said the driver then abandoned the vehicle.

Officials temporarily blocked access to the ramp when they cleared the scene, causing delays during the morning rush. The ramp was back open by 6:30 a.m. Friday.
