CHICAGO -- A van fleeing from Chicago police crashed into a building at Ohio and Kedzie.

Three people were sent to the hospital.

Officials said the green van was wanted in connection with an earlier hit-and-run crash. When an officer tried to pull the vehicle over, the driver sped off on Ohio Street, striking another van.

Passengers inside the tan van were taken to area hospitals. Their conditions are not known.

An ambulance was also called for the driver of the green van, officials said, after police used a stun gun to subdue him.

In a separate police-involved crash, a van struck an apartment building on 72nd Street. Several units were evacuated, but no one was living in the damaged unit.

Officials said the chase began in Englewood and one person is in custody.
