CHICAGO (WLS) -- The CTA is being sued by the mother of a 19-month-old girl who was hit and killed by a CTA bus last month.

La-Tasha Upshaw's wrongful death suit claims the CTA's bus driver was careless and asks for $50,000 in damages. Her daughter Cherish was killed on Memorial Day when investigators say she darted in front of the bus near 77th and South Shore.

A spokesperson for the CTA declined comment .
