1 killed in shooting outside Harvey sports bar

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police in south suburban Harvey are investigating a deadly shooting outside a sports bar Monday morning.

The shooting occurred at 154th Street and Dixie Highway near the Let's Play Sports Bar & Grill at around 3:15 a.m., police said. The shooting took place about a block away from the Harvey Police Department.

Authorities found the victim laying in the middle of the street.

With the help of Illinois State Police Crime investigators, Harvey police gathered evidence, including bullet casings, and interviewed multiple witnesses at the scene. It is unclear what led up to the shooting.

No one is in custody, according to Harvey police. The Illinois State Police Department is assisting with investigation.
