CHICAGO (WLS) -- Eight people were injured, three critically, in a van crash on the South Side Thursday afternoon, Chicago fire officials said.
Emergency responders were at the scene of a crash in at 98th and Cottage Grove in Pullman shortly after 4 p.m.
Chopper 7 was over the scene, which appeared to only involve one van, which looked like it slammed into a tree.
The Chicago Fire Department said at least eight people were transported by ambulance from the scene for treatment. Three of them were in critical condition, and the rest ranged in condition from serious to good.
The injured were taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, Roeland Hospital, Advocate Trinity Hospital and Christ Hospital for treatment.
The nature of their injuries was not immediately known. It was not clear if all the injured were passengers in the van or if the driver was also injured.
The circumstances of the crash were not immediately known. Chicago police have not yet commented on the incident.
