CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two children and a 27-year-old man were shot outside a home on Chicago's South Side Sunday, police said.

The shooting occurred in the 8200 block of S. Ada St. at around 4:30 p.m., according to police.

Police said the man and two young boys were standing in front of a residence when a vehicle pulled up and someone inside fired shots.

A 10-year-old boy was shot in the ankle and calf, and an 11-year-old boy was shot in the arm, police said. The 27-year-old man was shot in the leg and arm.

Family members at the scene said they were gathering to celebrate the life of another relative who was shot and killed two years ago. But as they arrived, they said they found more heartbreak.

"This is my family. I'm tired of this here," said Juanita Youngblood. "Something really needs to be done about this here. I'm tired of it."

Youngblood and her family were supposed to be honoring the life of her 34-year-old son Kenshaw.

"You could be sad, my son would put a smile on your face," Youngblood said.

The shooting was part of another weekend where Chicago's children became victims to gun violence.

"Will there be children left to go to school while they are debating whether to go into the school or not?" asked Pastor Donovan Price.

While the two young boys and the man were rushed to hospitals, Chicago-area DJs and musicians were hosting an event in Lawndale to call for an end to gun violence.

"It's a shame that we have to go through this and have stuff like this to ask you to stop killing our children," said DJ Phantom.

Community activist Andrew Holmes said "it's about stopping gun violence and getting more economic development inside our city."

Police said all three victims are in good condition so far.

No one is in custody in the shooting at this time, police said.

Area Two Detectives are investigating.
