Teen girl shot, seriously injured in Little Village: Chicago police

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 16-year-old girl was shot and seriously injured Monday evening in Chicago's Little Village neighborhood, Chicago police said.

The girl was in the 2200-block of South Sawyer Avenue just after 7 p.m., when a known male suspect approached her with a gun, police said.

The suspect fired shots, and the girl was hit in the back, police said.

She was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in serious condition.

Chicago police are investigating the shooting.

Just hours earlier, two teen boys were shot in Bronzeville, Chicago police said.

They were critically injured, police said.
