Thousands of people laced up their running shoes for a good cause when the annual 5K and 10K AIDS Run and Walk Sunday morning kicked off in Chicago's Grant Park.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Thousands of people laced up their running shoes for a good cause when the annual 5K and 10K AIDS Run and Walk Sunday morning kicked off in Chicago's Grant Park.

Participants had great views of the city as they made their way along the lakefront path.

The event raised nearly $380,000 for aids and HIV research.
