A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was issued for several northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin counties, but has expired.
The watch was issued until 7 p.m. for Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Kendall, Will, Boone, Bureau, Carroll, DeKalb, Henry, Jo Daviess, Kane, Lake, Lee, McHenry, Ogle, Putnam, Stephenson, Whiteside and Winnebago counties in Illinois and Columbia, Dane, Dodge, Fond du Lac, Green, Green Lake, Iowa, Jefferson, Kenosha, Lafayette, Marquette, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Rock, Sauk, Sheboygan, Walworth, Washington and Waukesha counties in Wisconsin.
The storms arrived in Chicago around dinner time with gusty winds possible. Nearing 7:30 p.m., they weakened and lost their severe threat, McGinnis said.

Strong storms are also expected Monday, McGinnis said.
Still, sunshine is expected for much of the next seven days, said ABC7 Chicago Meteorologist Greg Dutra. It will still be a bit cooler than normal.
