Severe weather threat for Wed., Thurs. includes risk of wind, rain, hail, tornadoes in Chicago area

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Chicago area is under a Level 3 risk for severe weather Wednesday and Thursday.

Temperatures Wednesday will be in the low 90s, with heat index values up around 100.



Between 3 and 8 p.m. Wednesday, storms are possible, likely in Chicago's north suburbs. Between 9 p.m. and midnight, a line of thunderstorms will likely move across the area, with high winds, heavy rain, possible hail and possible isolated tornadoes.

Temperatures Thursday will be in the upper 80s to low 90s, with heat index values close to 100 again.

A cold front will move into the area during the day Thursday, likely in the later evening hours.



There is a risk of all severe weather hazards Thursday, including tornadoes.

Friday will have temperatures in the 80s with lower humidity.
