More storms expected overnight, after trees, power lines downed Tuesday
Scattered storms are expected, but there is no severe threat overnight.
The rest of Tuesday into Wednesday will feature gusty winds, with some gusts reaching as high as 35 mph.
The first round of storms that moved through the Chicago area spurred some Severe Thunderstorm Warnings on Tuesday afternoon.
A tree fell on a home and a car in far northwest suburban Harvard, local police said.
No one is injured after the incident in the 600-block of Grant Street, police said.
There are power lines down in the 600-block of Dewey Street and trees down at Joshua Tree and Yellowstone Lane, police said.
In McHenry, first responders said they also had multiple downed trees.
A ground delay was issued at Chicago's O'Hare airport due to wind. The Federal Aviation Administration said delays were about 30 minutes.
The bulk of rainfall waits until early Wednesday.
On Wednesday, a soaking rain is expected during the morning commute.
Temperatures will also drop Wednesday, from a warm Tuesday.
