Loyola Med. Center cuts more jobs

May 12, 2009 This is the second round of layoffs for Loyola in the last six months.

This time around, more than 440 positions are being eliminated including nurses, managers and staff at both the hospital in Maywood and at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine.

Hospital officials say the layoffs come as the number of patients who cannot pay their medical bills increase.
