Attempted child abduction reported in Woodlawn

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Woodlawn community is on alert following a reported attempted abduction late Monday afternoon in the 1000-block of East 63rd Street.

Police say a man grabbed a young girl and tried to push her into a van. She was able to break free and get to safety.

The girl was not hurt and so far there is no description of the suspect.
