Cardinal George celebrates Maryville Academy anniversary

DES PLAINES, Ill. (WLS) -- Cardinal Francis George helped to celebrate a special mass at a northwest suburban school Saturday.

The cardinal was the main celebrant at the 130th anniversary of Maryville Academy in Des Plaines.

Students, parents and staff attended the mass, which was held in the school's gymnasium.

Aside from general education, Maryville also provides care for children who are abused, abandoned, and suffer from substance abuse and mental illness.
