Chicago airports' busiest days were summer weekdays in last year

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Despite what many travelers think, flying during the week isn't always the best.

The busiest days at Chicago airports during the past 12 months were during the weekdays, according to data released by the Federal Aviation Administration.

At O'Hare International Airport, two of the busiest travel days were during the summer - Thurs., June 23 and Fri., June 24. Of the top six days, four were Thursdays and five were during the summer. Thurs., Nov. 12, 2015 was No. 3 on the list.

At Midway International Airport, the busiest day were also during the summer. Five of the top six busiest days were during June and July with Thurs., June 23 at the top. Thurs., Sept. 15 was No. 2 on the Midway list.
