Chicago officer bikes 300 miles to bring attention to opioid crisis

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Chicago police officer is biking to raise awareness about the country's opioid crisis.

Officer Kim Conte took off Friday on a 300-mile bike ride from Chicago to Iowa, and back.

Conte's brother died from a heroin overdose two years ago today. The loss inspired her to make a difference.

Conte cycled 100 miles last year for the same effort.
