CHICAGO (WLS) -- The CTA is on a mission to make its rail system more accessible for riders with disabilities.

Only 68 percent of the CTA's 145 "L" stations meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The agency said it wants to be at 100 percent within the next 20 years. It plans to start by adding elevators and ramps at certain stations.

The CTA also plans to publish a report outlining its initiative by later this year or in 2017.
