CHICAGO (WLS) -- A new dog flu vaccine is supposed to protect against an outbreak like the one that sickened so many dogs this spring.

It will protect dogs against the H3N2 strain. The vaccine is recommended for healthy dogs six weeks of age or older.

It will be available to veterinarians starting on Monday.
