Indiana man arrested at Midway Airport after gun found in luggage, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 53-year-old Indiana man was arrested at Midway Airport after Transportation Security Administration officers say they discovered a firearm in his carry-on luggage.

The man was in route to Atlanta Thursday when the .45/.410 caliber revolver was discovered at a security checkpoint, officials said.

This is the first firearm to be discovered in luggage at Midway Airport this year. In 2015, 16 firearms were detected.

No other details have been released.
