This Girl takes mirror selfies to a whole new level

Helene Meldahl is a creative artist who is gaining a lot of attention for reinventing the daily Instagram selfie in the bathroom mirror. Using chalk, posca and acrylic markers, Meldahl illustrates a cartoon-like scene around herself before snapping the shot, creating the illusion of an adorably cute fantasy world on Instagram.

Initially drawing on mirrors to write cute messages for her roommates, the drawings escalated from small to elaborate depictions as she was procrastinating from writing her bachelor thesis in entrepreneurship. Meldahl said that most of her mirror illustrations take about 20 minutes, while some take much more time.

"I just get lost in it and enjoy it."
