5 injured in Irving Park crash

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A crash on the city's Northwest Side sent five people, including three children, to hospitals early Monday.

Police say a car hit a parked SUV then a light pole just after 3 a.m. in the 4900-block of W. Irving Park Road.

It's unclear what caused the driver to lose control.

Chicago police say drunken driving is suspected. Charges are pending against the driver, a 24-year-old woman.

An adult male passenger and the children were taken to Lutheran General and Illinois Masonic hospitals.

None of their injuries is believed to be life-threatening.
