New library branch holds grand opening in Chinatown

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A big crowd turned out Saturday for the opening of a new Chicago Public Library branch in Chinatown.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel joined city officials to celebrate the grand opening of the new 16,000-square-foot building, which provides free state-of-the art resources including high-speed Internet.

The previous facility was a rental.

The Chinatown branch is the busiest in Chicago, serving 21,000 people each month.
