CHICAGO (WLS) -- Check out this cool time-lapse video just released by NASA.
Filmed on the International Space Station, the ultra-high-definition video shows Aurora Borealis and Aurora Australis.
Aurora Borealis, also known as the "Northern Lights," can be seen at high northern latitudes. People travel to places like Alaska, Denmark and Russia to see them.
Aurora Australis can be seen at extreme southern latitudes, like in Antarctica, Chile and Australia.
The light events occur when electrons in the Earth's magnetic field collide with neutral atoms in the upper atmosphere.
