HOUSTON -- A woman is now charged with murder after a motorcyclist died in a five-vehicle crash Saturday around noon on Houston's West Loop.
Arnesia Washington is charged with felony murder for the wreck that shut down the West Loop at Evergreen for hours. Washington was charged in this way because investigators say she she was intoxicated and had two young children in the car with her at the time of the accident.
Prosecutors say this was not the first wreck Washington was involved in on Saturday. They say she was in two relatively minor hit-and-run wrecks before the fatal accident. The victims in those wrecks reportedly followed Washington to try to exchange information with her, and became witnesses to the fatal accident.
Police say Washington tried to flee the fatal wreck, too, but was blocked in by the drivers who were involved in the earlier accidents.
