Michigan City police seek man accused of abusing dog

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. (WLS) -- Police want your help to find Richard Cope, a 50-year-old man accused of abusing a dog in northwest Indiana.



About two weeks ago, Michigan City police learned about the dog on Facebook. Investigators said there were marks that indicated the animal's muzzle was taped shut and its legs were injured. Cope is now wanted on animal abuse charges.



Police said Cope is about 5 ft. 9 in. tall and weighs around 180 lbs. He has brown hair, green eyes and several tattoos. They include a bullet hole on his left forehead, the numbers "0704" on his right knuckles, the numbers "2009" on his left knuckles, a Harley Davidson symbol on his right arm and skulls and satanic stars on his left arm.
