1 in custody after shots fired on parked CTA bus near Midway

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was taken into custody after Chicago police said he opened fire on a parked CTA bus near the Midway Orange Line station Monday.

The incident occurred at about 5:40 p.m. in the 4600-block of West 59th Street.

Police said the 33-year-old man got on the parked bus and fired shots, damaging the bus.

No one else was on the bus at the time and no injuries were reported, police said.

The suspect was taken into custody and charges are pending, police said.

A gun was recovered on the scene and Area One detectives are investigating.
