CCL holder shoots suspect in robbery attempt at gas station in Orland Park

ORLAND PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- A concealed carry permit holder shot an armed suspect in an attempted robbery at a gas station in Orland Park Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred at about 9 a.m. at a Shell gas station in the 15100-block of South Harlem Avenue.

Police said the CCL holder was pumping gas when the armed suspect approached to rob the person. The CCL holder then took out a gun and shot the suspect, police said.

The suspect was transported to the hospital and the CCL holder is cooperating with police.
