Hit-and-run driver kills woman biking on US Route 20 in Hampshire, officials say

HAMPSHIRE, Ill. (WLS) -- A woman was killed in a hit-and-run while biking in Hampshire on Monday morning, officials said.

The Hampshire Police Department said they responded at about 12:40 a.m. to a report of a crash on US Route 20 north of Big Timber Road.

Police said the woman was found dead in the roadway. The Kane County Coroner's Office identified her as 27-year-old Ebony Calvillo, of Hampshire.

The vehicle that hit her was not at the scene when police arrived, and investigators are searching for the driver responsible.

The Hampshire Police Department, Kane County Major Crimes Task Force, and Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team. US Route 20 is closed between Big Timber Road and Gast Road as police investigate.
