
CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was stabbed and seriously injured while walking near Buckingham Fountain in the Loop Thursday night, Chicago police said.
The incident occurred at about 11:37 p.m. in the 500-block of South Columbus Drive.
Police said a 23-year-old man and 27-year-old woman were walking when a male suspect approached and there was a verbal argument that became physical.
The suspect took out a sharp object and stabbed the man on his neck before fleeing on foot, police said.
The man was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition, police said. No other injuries were reported.
Area Three detectives are investigating.
